The Universe and More is a nonprofit company dedicated to making physics exciting, intuitive and accessible for students everywhere. We make fun and educational games based on real lessons by real teachers, and share them for free and with no ads.
Our games are designed to provide genuine learning, with built-in scaffolding and positive reinforcement that integrates learning objectives directly into gameplay. Students experience an environment that engages their understanding of physics, while immersed in fun, thought-provoking gameplay.
Created by an award-winning high school physics teacher and game designer, The Universe and More creates games that can be used both in and out of the classroom, as collaborative activities or follow-up homework assignments. Our games are created to supplement and enhance, but not replace, the vital role that social interaction plays in the classroom.
Matt Blackman is the creator and lead developer behind the Universe and More. Matt is currently a tenth-year high school physics teacher, adjunct at Rutgers Graduate School of Education, and professional development coach. He has acquired a reputation as an innovative, dedicated, passionate, and highly talented educator whose goal is to assist his students and fellow teachers to fulfill their greatest potential.
Matt’s achievements have not gone unnoticed. In September 2013, the New Jersey State Legislature adopted a ceremonial resolution formally recognizing Matt for his accomplishments in the classroom, and thanking him for his contributions to the New Jersey community. Matt knows how to reach students, and his teaching style permeates the Universe and More.
Chris Salloum is the Universe and More’s Chief Operating Officer. Chris is responsible for, among many other things, talent acquisition and management, educational outreach, and fundraising. In addition to these duties, Chris oversees the day-to-day operations of The Universe and More, and he plays a vital role in the development and testing of its games.
